Most of us like the idea of early workouts – it’s the only time that is yours, you get it out of the way and start your day fresh. The problem is convincing your tired self at 5:00 a.m. Here are some tips from everyday people (not celebrities) that make it work, courtesy of Health:
- Don’t think about how early it is when the alarm goes off. Easier said than done, but it is worth a shot!
- Keep your alarm in the bathroom or far enough that you have to get out of bed. Just don’t crawl back under the sheets.
- Do a countdown when your alarm goes off, and get out of bed when you hit zero. Stay off email or anything else to wake yourself up.
One of the other suggestions was to set up a coffeemaker in your bedroom to start brewing with your alarm, but I think that might be a bit extreme for most of us!
Give some of these a shot and see if they can help you get those workouts in and battle the extra holiday calories.
