Fast Fitness: Running at Any Age
Whether you’ve put in miles every week for years or are relatively new to it, running is a form of exercise you can truly do at any age. However, it doesn’t mean you can train the same way at 43 as you can at 23. Here are some tips for running as you get older, courtesy of Runner’s World:
- Give the foam roller a workout at least four times each week. Especially for those of us with desk jobs, flexibility becomes even more critical to staying healthy and injury-free.
- Incorporate strength training. This is key to offset a decline in muscle mass as you get older.
- Keep going to keep going. Don’t think, “I’m too old to be training like this”. Make realistic modifications, but keep racing and testing your boundaries to stay healthy and mobile.
Be the best runner you can be…at any age!
