Best of Fast Fitness: Choosing the Right Gym
With summer around the corner, you may be thinking about your swimsuit figure. If you didn’t jump on the gym membership for your New Year’s resolution (remember that?) here are some tips for finding the right gym for you:
Choosing the right gym can seem daunting, but it doesn’t have to be. With Congress considering making gym memberships and fitness classes tax-deductible, it might even save you money, too. Here are some considerations from Shape:
- Determine your needs. Some gyms are more focused on circuit machines, while some have more free weights, classes or cardio equipment. Not all have trainers available.
- Stay close. Going to the gym after you get home from work? It should be down the street. The same goes for sneaking out for a lunch workout at the office – it needs to be nearby.
- Test drive. Most gyms will give you a trial membership so you can check out the equipment and the crowd.
With a little preparation, you can ensure your gym is your home away from home!
