Health Officials are Waring Bodybuilders and Fitness Influencers Not to Eat This
Just because you see something on TikTok does not mean it is good for you, even if influencers say it is the best thing ever! The Independent says health officials are now warning fitness influencers and bodybuilders not to eat dog food to increase their protein intake. People are posting videos of themselves on Tik Tok eating Pedigree dog food because it contains 666 g of protein. These influencers believe there are benefits of fueling a workout by eating the tempting flavors and meals intended for our canine friends. The National Academy of Sciences says dog food contains a synthetic form of vitamin K, which is safe for dogs, but causes liver damage in humans. But according to a statement made to Buzzfeed, Pedigree says their food is safe for human consumption, “Our foods are intended for dogs and cats, but would not be harmful if a human consumed them,” the company explained. “The manufacturing processes and research that go into our products are equal to —and in some cases, even better than — those of human food manufacturers.”
Some Tik Tok bodybuilders are trying wet dog food to chow down instead of dry dog food. Wet or dry, I think I’ll eat peanut butter and put protein powder in my shake instead. because they do not enjoy the dryness.
