Today’s scammers are getting so good that it is hard to tell what is real and what is a scam. I got an email telling me my credit card would be frozen unless I make payment. The email seriously looked legit. Luckily I had received conformation of payment from my credit card company just days prior. Now instead of just getting into our email and computers, these scammers are hitting up our Smart TV’s. WWLP says a new smart TV scam is popping up all across America. The Better Business Bureau says people can’t log on to their favorite streaming services after turning on their TVs. A pop-up then tells the person there is a problem with their TV and to call a phone number to fix the problem. Scam artists are using the phone number and a website to try and get a person’s credit card number. They steal financial information and then buy gift cards and other expensive merchandise.
