Nettie’s House of Spaghetti, in Tinton Falls, Bans Kids… Do You Agree?
I have to say when I go to a restaurant, I am looking forward to a relaxing night out. When I hear kids screaming and see them running around the patrons tables, that drives me nuts! I think why can’t these parents control their kids so we can all have an enjoyable experience. I really do not like when strange kids invite themselves to my table by making funny faces or whatever it is they do to get attention. With that said I have to say I totally agree with the bold move that this local restaurant decided to do.
Fox News says Nettie’s House of Spaghetti, in Tinton Falls, New Jersey, is making headlines because they have banned children under the age of 10. The Italian restaurant says the ban was necessary because of how rowdy children are. “We love kids. We really, truly, do. But lately, it’s been extremely challenging to accommodate children at Nettie’s. Kids running around the restaurant in circles when we’re trying to carry trays of food and drinks has made doing our jobs extremely difficult. We have decided that it’s time to take control of the situation. As of March 8, the day we return from our winter break, we will no longer allow children under 10 to dine in the restaurant.”
I am sure this was not an isolated incident that they decided to turn away kids under 10. Keep in mind that they will be losing the business of these 10 year old parents. in the end they will be gaining business from folks who support their ban. I always told my son that he needs to be on his best behavior when we are out, and he needed to use his inside voice when communicating. Somewhere along the lines with casual dining being so popular, etiquette has gone out the window.
