This Is the Rudest Dining Habit Ever

I have a friend who had hosted Christmas for her and her husband's family this year.  She made a fish dish and one of  her husband's relatives  said if he were making it he would have prepared it differently.  She totally went off on him about how rude she thought his cooking suggestion was.  In my opinion, she should not have gotten that cranky about it since everyone cooks the same dish differently.  I usually use a recipe as a guide and do not follow it exactly which means my dish never comes out the same way twice! I am open for suggestions because I seem to learn when I hear about other ways to prepare something.  Most people take it as criticism, whereas I think they are simply telling you how they prepare it.

If you want to be polite as not ruffle anybody's feathers, the experts are now saying if you've ever felt the urge to tell someone about an ingredient in a dish that could make the dish better, stop it.  This habit, known as "invidious comparison eating" or ICE, is now the "rudest dining habit ever."
