If you’re one of the 100 million people who are eligible for a piece of the $725 million Facebook settlement, you’ve got less than four months to file a claim. Parent company Meta has set a claim deadline of August 25th, 2023. Claims can be filed either online or by mail, according to Meta. Click on this link to submit an application online or by mail.The money is the result of a class action lawsuit that revealed Facebook shared users’ personal data which the lawsuit stems from accusations that Facebook allowed users’ personal data to be shared with third parties, the most famous being Cambridge Analytica, a consulting firm that supported Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign. The firm harvested the data of as many as 87 million Facebook users, the Associated Press reported. Although Facebook officials have agreed to the settlement, they’ve denied any wrongdoing.
