Plus, that money will count as income, meaning the winner will pay even more taxes on the jackpot next April. But let’s be honest, taking home anything over $100 million bucks is very impressive!
Now that you have the amount of winning money calculated for tonight’s jackpot, I came across this method of guaranteed success to win. WGN TV says the only guaranteed way of winning the $1.3 billion Mega Millions lottery jackpot is to spend $600 million on tickets. That way you could purchase every possible number combination and win the lump sum cash payout of $708 million. Your odds drop to 1-in-302 million without buying every number combo.
