Wakey wakey New Jersey a new study conducted has not only discovered that New Jerseyans love breakfast, but has also put together a list of our top five favorite breakfast items. So, when you've gotten your fresh cup of coffee and are ready to tackle the morning what is your choice of food to kick off the day?

Well, if your answer was good old-fashioned eggs, you're not alone. According to this Denny’s Breakfast Index a study conducted by the titan diner company Denny’s eggs were at the top of New Jersey’s list for breakfast items. Right behind them were Pancakes, Bacon, Hashbrowns, and finally Sausages. Now how many New Jerseyans are actually eating breakfast?

Well, 66% of Jersey are in love with their morning meal according to the study which is a bit higher than the national average of 59% of Americans who love breakfast. That would also rank Jersey as third for the biggest breakfast lover compared to all the other states.

Now let’s go into a bit more detail about our favorite breakfast item, as it turns out New Jersey is a big fan of eggs that are not only scrambled but also have cheese in them. Nothing says good morning better than a nicer egg and cheese sandwich I suppose. Our pancakes however are a major win as New Jersey’s favorite type is Buttermilk, personally, chicken and pancakes are a win in my book, but did you know that 60% of the 2000 people surveyed said that they have started eating more breakfast during the pandemic compared to prior?

With breakfast being one of the most important meals of the day it’s no wonder New Jersey loves it so much, we need as much energy as we can get so we can put on our best and now we know exactly where we stand on the topic, summer is almost halfway through, but breakfast that’s forever.
