Michael Nagle/Getty ImagesIt's official Stray the interactive game published by Annapurna Interactive and developed by Blue Twelve Studio is a hit, as it's quickly becoming a must play for the cat and gaming community as it has become the company's most popular title.
It’s also become a hit on social media mainly Tiktok as users are now taking videos of their real-life pets interacting with the game. What has been dubbed as the meow button, it is an in-game function that allows players to meow as much as they want. Insider reported on Thursday that the hashtag #straygame had over 28 million views since then it has nearly tripled sitting at 80.8 million views. As for streaming it has easily broken into the top ten, currently sitting at rank ten with an average of over 50k viewers. As for their steam page the reviews are piling up with over forty thousand reviews and a score of overwhelmingly positive, you have to give the team behind Stray a round of applause.
Many content creators are finding fun and creative ways to play the game while incorporating their own feline companions one creator even went as far as to add an end stream button that their cat could press at any point while they streamed the game. How could your cats resist when you have not only the meow button but the ability to knock over objects over ledges or even ruin a perfectly good chess game. The developers really made sure to study every aspect of cats, going as far as to supposedly allowing cats to roam around their office during the development. This Puzzle Adventure game has really captured the minds and hearts of those who play it.
With such massive success in terms of the game taking off on social media you have to wonder where this may lead the game as far as sales are concerned as well as when we come to the 2022 Game Awards this Winter. There are a few Cat-egories we could certainly see the game taking home.
Though is Stray a possible contender for Game of the Year? We’ll have to see how their sales and popularity grow in the coming weeks, though stay up to date with us for more purrfect kitty content right here on Magic 98.3.
