Paul McCartney Shares Awesome News About New Jersey Legend
We hear in New Jersey and around the globe are well aware of the impact Jon Bon Jovi has had on the world. Not just for his music, but also for his philanthropy.
Also noticing his contributions is MusiCares, the non-profit charity of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences. They just named Jon its Person of the Year for 2024.
Next year Jon will be the guest of honor at the MusiCares annual gala, which will take place February 2. The event will take place at the Los Angeles Convention Center, just a couple of days before the Grammy Awards. The event always has an incredible lineup who perform the songs of the chosen honoree.
Sir Paul Breaks the News
The list of artists who will perform hasn’t been announced yet, but there’s a good chance that Paul McCartney will be one of them. Paul is the one who told Jon about the awesome news. Jon gave his thanks on social media and shared th video that his “dear friend” Paul McCartney made, telling him he’d be receiving the honor.

Paul said, “Hey Jon, hi, Paul here. Hey listen, I was given a MusiCares award a couple years ago. It was great, a real great honor for a beautiful charity. Well, I’ve got news for you, it’s you this year. You’re being given the honor so congratulations man. I hope you have a great time, you deserve it. Lot of love, see ya.”
Why Jon?
Laura Segura, executive director of MusiCares, says in a statement that Jon’s “remarkable contributions to rock and roll have not only left an indelible mark on the music industry but also in the hearts of countless fans around the world.”
She continued, “His long-standing commitment to serving food-insecure and unhoused individuals inspires us all. We’re looking forward to celebrating him and the many ways he has made a difference in this world.”
The money raised by the gala goes toward MusiCares’ programs that help those in the music community with physical and mental health, addiction recovery, preventive clinics, unforeseen personal emergencies, and disaster relief.
