There are certain nostalgic snacks or brands that evoke major memories for me. When I think of them, see them or something sparks the memory, it takes me back.

Usually, it’s high school or grade school that they remind me of. Suzy Q’s is one nostalgic snack that takes me back to my high school lunchroom. I didn’t even like them, but they were always there right next to the “Choc-o-chip” three-pack of cookies.

Razzles is another nostalgic snack that really makes me feel like a kid, "First it's a candy, then it's a gum. Little round Razzles are so much fun." And don’t get me started on Fudge Superstar, Zagnut, Pop Rocks, or Tastykake candy cakes.

Coventry set out to find which nostalgic snacks are still on American's minds. To determine the most popular nostalgic snack in each state, their researchers compiled a list of twenty-eight snacks that Delish, Eat This, and Buzzfeed deemed nostalgic. They analyzed Google search trends over the last twenty years, and their researchers were able to determine the nostalgic snacks that are the most popular in all 50 states.

So what came out on top? Ring Pops are the most popular nostalgic snacks in the United States. Nine of the fifty states agree. It’s actually a great idea, you don’t really have to hold it, and if you get tired of eating it you just wear it until you want more later.

There was a three-way tie for second place. Capri-Sun, Kudos and Pop-Tarts take five states back. I don’t know if Capri-Sun was the first with the yellow straw and the foil bag, but it’s obvious that they did it the best.

And Pop-Tarts are legendary. I’m a bit in the minority on this one because I prefer the unfrosted versions. Whether it’s toasted or not, the unfrosted blueberry pop-tart is best, although strawberry is pretty good too..

So, what was deemed the most popular nostalgic snack in New Jersey? It’s kind of disappointing for me, but it’s Danimals. I liked yogurt, Yoplait or La Yogurt, but Danimals was like a drink, and I was not a fan. Obviously, people in New Jersey don’t agree with me because it’s number one here.
