Best Job Ever!? Apply for This Wine Company’s “Vinternship”
I prefer beer over wine so this would not work for me because I’m not a wine drinker and am clueless when it comes to the stuff. However, maybe this would be perfect for you or someone you know. It’s something that all wine drinkers have dreamed about. If you consider yourself somewhat of a wine connoisseur, or perhaps just a simple someone who likes to sip or chug some delightfully fermented juice from delicious bunches of plump grapes. This is your dream job. Wine retailer Majestic is going to pay someone to drink wine while vacationing. Yes, you read correctly, they not only want to pay you to take a vacation in the Mediterranean, they want to pay you to enjoy some delicious vino, and they’re willing to pay you handsomely for it. The wine maker wants to find out if wine tastes better on vacation. Spoiler alert; it does! Everything does! Should you land this much sought after position, you will be paid rather generously. How much? The job pays $241 a day! That’s the equivalent of over eighty seven thousand dollars a year.
Majestic’s job ad reads, ”We’re looking for someone to put the idea to the test. We’ll fly you to the Iberian Peninsula, to taste the wines of Spain and Portugal in the country they were made in, with flights, accommodations and a case of our superb Wine Club wines to sample all provided. You’ll also be compensated with $241 per day spending money. Then we’ll also send you a case of wine to try back at home. You’ll be asked to evaluate the two experiences and let us know which wines tasted better. No previous tasting experience required, just an open mind, a passport and a love of beautiful bottles. As well as tasting the bottles and enjoying some summer holiday sun, the chosen budding wine taster will also be treated to a visit to some of our Wine Club’s beautiful wineries and vineyards.”
