When I first came across this pillow I thought "Ewww, creepy!" then I thought "Ah, kinda cool!" My friends would get a kick out of it, but would anyone use this pillow as intended?
According to HuffPost, this Make-Out Practice Pillow is a quirky creation by designer Emily King and is just in time for Valentine's Day! It looks like a regular pillow, but it has a giant mouth right smack in the middle. I know it sounds a bit out there but I knew a boy in grammar school who admitted he practiced kissing on his pillow so he could learn to be a good kisser. The thing that struck me as strange was that his pillow could never give him feedback on his technique, so how did he really know if he was a good kisser or not?
Emily mentioned how back when she was in middle school, there was this whole "joke" about practicing making out with pillows. I think many of us can relate to kissing a pillow, even if we don't admit it. We have seen decorative pillows with cute messages like "Let's Make Out," but there has never been anything on the market in the make-out practice department. Singles, this may be just what you need to boost your confidence!
When Emily shared her idea with her friends, they had mixed reactions. Her friends over the age of twenty-five were like, "That's really creepy," while the younger crowd found it hilarious and awesome. It seems like those in the middle school to college-age range were the ones who really felt inspired to buy this pillow.
I have to admit, I found the idea pretty funny until I saw these pillows. They are... well, let's just say they're super creepy. But maybe that's part of their charm, take a look at this YouTube Video posted by ABC Action News and you be the judge:

What's even more interesting is that Emily got the inspiration for these pillows from CPR dummies. I guess these pillows could be a fun novelty item, or who knows, maybe they could actually serve as practice for those who need to work on their kissing skills. But for me, I think I'll stick to regular pillows for now.
