Is Aaron Judge Headed to Queens? San Francisco? Back to the Bronx?
Yankees fans love Aaron Judge, of course, they do. Non-Yankees fans also love Aaron Judge. Even the Yankee haters were rooting for Aaron to reach the glorious number 62 and go down as a legend on Major League Baseball’s homerun list of the elite.
However, Aaron is more than a home run hitter, his average this past season was .311, second in the American League. He was unanimously selected American League Rookie of the Year in 2017, a Silver Slugger Award winner, and will most likely be voted the Most Valuable Player for the 2022 season.
For these and many other reasons, Aaron will be much sought after by many Major League teams as he enters free agency. His contract has expired with the Yankees and he is free to sign with any other team in the league.
It was assumed that he would re-sign with the Yankees, but there has been a lot of talk and a lot of rumors that the Bronx Bomber right fielder could be lured away with a ridiculous amount of money.
NJ.com reports, “Aaron Judge’s last interview of the season, maybe his last representing the Yankees.” They also shared anonymous information they gathered that “Judge is at the top of the Giants list and they won’t be underbid,” the person said. “If they miss out, it won’t be because of money.”
But that’s not all, apparently, there are many teams willing to shell out big bucks to land the superstar. Bleacherreport.com shared “his 10 most likely landing spots, based on spending power, roster need, and ability to contend in 2023 and beyond.” They claim that Aaron Judge could land a deal that could garner him three hundred million dollars, that’s $300,000,000! Other teams rumored to be possible bidders include the New York Mets, the Boston Red Sox, the St. Louis Cardinals, and the Los Angeles Dodgers.
With all this in mind, the Yankees are still most likely the home of “BAJ” when the 2023 season gets underway.
What a night. Such a blessing from God to share that moment with so many special people! Thank you @RogerMarisJr, the Yankees, my teammates, my family and all the Yankee fans for such an incredible day! pic.twitter.com/soiC52sOth
