Woman Fakes Pregnancy For Extended Maternity Leave And Vacation
The extent people will take to rip off their employer just blows my mind. I can see calling in sick once in a blue moon even though you are not physically ill. Once in a while a mental health day not only benefits us, but our employer as well. I don’t however think it is fair to your co-workers to continuously call out sick because your co-workers usually have to pick up the slack.
The Daily Mirror says a Georgia woman faked a pregnancy and created a fake boyfriend in order to get maternity leave from her $100,000 a year job. Robin Folsom, 43, who worked as a communications director for Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Agency, is alleged to have worn a fake stomach to make her look pregnant. Robin’s co-worker busted her after her fake, prosthetic baby bump came away from her body. Someone needed to inform her that a real baby grows underneath the skin of the belly on a real pregnant woman!
At what extent does you co-worker have to go for you to rat them out? Robin’s co-workers easily busted her because none of the babies in her pictures she sent them looked the same. Robin’s bosses investigated and discovered that she was lying because she wanted an extended vacation. Folsom resigned in October 2021, shortly after being interviewed by investigators. Robin pled guilty to identity fraud and was sentenced to five years of probation and a psychiatric evaluation.
