The Daily Mail says a Seattle ice cream shop has banned tipping because customers are fed up with ‘TIP-FLATION’. Molly Neitzel, the owner of Molly Moon’s Ice Cream Shop, says she has raised prices and increased staff pay to make up for the lost tips. She starts new employees at $21 an hour plus health care benefits. ”Employees don’t really want to stand there and think about how much influence the customer has over what they’re going to take home. I have to say I’m highly annoyed at tipping. When we accepted tips, credit card processors benefitted the most as they make more on the credit card processing fees.
