Black Friday Countdown
Black Friday is Coming Right Now.
The Friday after Thanksgiving has been considered the unofficial start of the holiday shopping season since the early 1920’s. The term “Black Friday” came about in the 1960’s. This is the day stores move out of the red and into the black. This is the day you set your alarm clocks early so you can be one of the first in the store to get the sale product or extra saving coupons.
-69% of people will shop on Black Friday
-71% of people will shop on Cyber Monday ….. OR, will they?
With the competition and the convenience of online shopping, Sears and K-Mart decided to break tradition by offering Black Friday deals now. K-Mart is offering 10-40% off everything while Sears is offering 10-50% the entire store. Kohl’s will start the Black Friday sale the Monday before Thanksgiving.
It looks like circling around the parking lot, and following people to their cars for a parking spot on Black Friday is a thing of the past. Either way, I’m a woman who hangs on to tradition. I will be setting my alarm early, grabbing my coffee and pastry, and heading to the mall. I’d hate to think I’m missing out on the deal of all deals.
