Halloween Costumes – What Not to Wear in 2017
If You’re Invited to a Halloween Party, Here’s Some Guidelines To Keep in Mind
We talked about this on What’s Trending and I thought it would be a good idea to talk about it again. If you are invited to a party that requires a costume, keep these points in mind:
- Make sure People can actually identify you. There’s nothing worse than having to explain to people who you are supposed to be, when all you want to do is dig into eating the snacks.
- Don’t dress up as anyone political. That means no Trump, no Clinton, no Obama! You don’t know how others feel about your candidate and you don’t need a bowl of chips and dip thrown in your face.
- Don’t disrespect other people’s cultures. Of course you can go as a character of another race, but dressing up as a particular race is not a Halloween costume.
- Be Topical.
- Try to refrain from that overly sexy costume. I’m not about to shame you for this, I feel lingerie paired with animal ears and animal slippers is a legit costume! But after seeing this rule #5 show up in multiple articles on Adult Costumes for 2017, I am re-thinking my costume choice and may go as something dead ugly – like a Zombie or something.
