Top New Jersey Vacation Ideas for the Summer of 2024
Now is the time of year when couples, families, and friends feel pressured to come up with vacation ideas unless they’ve already made their plans.
Each year our family seems to wait until the last minute to make our plans because we don’t usually agree on where to go or what to do. It’s never a good idea to wait because places get booked up, and you’re most likely going to pay more, especially if flying is on the agenda.
When the kids were younger our vacation plans always included the Jersey Shore. As they got older we thought that we could always go to the beach so we would try to visit other places.
We went to Disney World several times, flew to Arizona to visit my brother, traveled to Ireland, had fun at other Florida destinations, and also spent time in Rehoboth Beach, Puerto Rico, and the Dominican Republic.
This year it looks like we’re all in agreement to head back to either Wildwood, Ocean City, Point Pleasant Beach, or Stone Harbor.
If you and your family are searching for other vacation plans or ideas, a recent survey by casino.ca revealed each state’s favorite vacation type.
They surveyed 3,000 Americans to reveal each state’s favorite vacay type, ranging from adventure, beach or poolside relaxation, road trips, city breaks, and more. They also explored ”vacation trends such as average expenditure, booking habits, and yearly travel frequency.”

Their findings found that beach and poolside relaxation is the number one getaway in thirty-four states. That includes New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Texas, California, and Massachusetts.
In second place, adventure vacation ideas are the most popular in seven states, like Connecticut, Hawaii, North Dakota, and South Dakota.
Road trips were preferred nationwide taking the top spot in 5 states including New Hampshire, and Vermont.
It was interesting to find that the average amount spent on vacations is just over $2,000. That’ll get you maybe three days at the Jersey Shore.
