Yes, really!
According to CBS, the Transportation Security Administration at Tampa International Airport made sure no snakes were permitted to slither onto a plane after a woman tried smuggling her boa constrictor on board. The woman was flying out of Tampa and tried to stash her boa constrictor in her carry-on luggage, but the TSA’s X-ray machine alerted officials that there was something reptilian inside. TSA spokesperson Lisa Farberstein shared the image on Twitter, which shows the snake coiled up in the corners and outlined in bright orange.
TSA officials also shared on Instagram interesting posts: “There’s a danger noodle in that bag… Our officers at Tampa International Airport didn’t find this hyssssssterical!”. They continued with the punny comments, “We really have no adder-ation for discovering any pet going through an x-ray machine.” Wait, there’s more, “Do you have asp-irations of taking a snake on a plane? Don’t get upsetti spaghetti by not understanding your airline’s rules. For instance, airlines don’t allow nope ropes in carry-on bags and only a few allow them to slither around in checked bags, if packaged correctly.”
Lisa Farbstein added Snake on a plane? This is a @TSA X-ray of Bartholomew, a boa constrictor who was in a traveler’s carry-on bag at @FlyTPA… Woman claimed the snake was her emotional support pet. TSA notified the airline, which ruled that there was not going to be a snake on their plane!”
Relieved fellow passengers were happy to learn that the snake was not permitted on the plane.
New Jersey Is 2023’s 7th Best State to Raise a Family
New Jersey has been ranked as the seventh best state to raise a family in for 2023. While those of us that live here in the Garden State would have said our home is No. 1, we will happily accept our ranking this year in the top ten.
WalletHub‘s most recent study compared the 50 states across key dimensions such as family fun, health and safety, affordability, and more. Sure, life happens and people pick up and move due to an array of reasons but you can always come back home at some point, especially to raise a family.
New Jersey has so much to offer when it comes to the needs and wants for families of all sizes. Overall, the state offers quality education, entertainment, healthcare, and so much more.
“Families need to balance the cost of living with the amenities that a community provides. Places with low housing costs can be good for families. However, affordable real estate may reflect the fact that a community is far from employment and educational opportunities. What you save in housing costs you will end up paying in transportation time and costs. Low housing costs may also reflect low property tax rates, which may mean that less social supports are in place,” Lauren Jones, Associate Professor at Ohio State University shared with WalletHub.
