The History Channel introduces a new season of The Toys That Built America, an eight-part series that shares the stories behind the classic nostalgic toys that not only transformed our childhoods, but also had a major impact on American culture. The Toys That Built America returns for a second season to continue chronicling the untold stories and rivalries that gave rise to the modern toy industry. Premiering Sunday, October 23 at 9/8c on the HISTORY Channel. The series profiles the visionaries whose imaginations led to multi-billion dollar empires such as Marvin Glass (creator of Rock ‘em Sock ‘em Robots, Lite Brite and Simon) and Nolan Bushnell (one of the creators of Atari), known as the founding father of the video game industry.
Featured in the series is toy & pop culture expert Jordan Hembrough, who hosted the hit series Toy Hunter in which he traveled the world in search of the most elusive toys. A member of the prestigious Toy Hall of Fame, Jordan can share the stories behind our most iconic toys– and even look ahead to this holiday season to discuss the hottest, most in-demand toys as shopping season gets underway.
