East Brunswick’s Own Helps Save Christmas at State Theatre NJ
Magic 98.3 is the official sponsor of the State Theatre New Jersey Broadway Series. Whenever one of the Broadway Series shows including Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical comes to State Theatre New Jersey I get the opportunity to have a conversation with one of the amazing performers in the show.
Check out my conversation with Lexis Trechak who plays Betty Who for a second year. Lexis’ credits include Spamalot, SpongeBob the Musical,, Godspell, and Seussical. Follow Lexis @lexistrechak

Some of the other Broadway performances coming to STNJ include Cirque Musica Holiday Wonderland, The Addams Family – A Musical Comedy, An Evening with Sutton Foster, and Dear Evan Hansen.
Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical broke box office records for two consecutive years on Broadway during its holiday engagements at the St. James and Hilton theatres in New York. Since then, more than 2.1 million theatre-goers across America have been delighted by this heart-warming holiday musical, which The New York Times praised as “100 times better than any bedtime story” and the Gannett papers hailed as “A genius of a show! A total delight for both kids and adults.”
Dr. Seuss’ How The Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical features the hit songs “You’re A Mean One Mr. Grinch” and “Welcome Christmas” from the original animated series. Max the Dog narrates as the mean and scheming Grinch, whose heart is “two sizes too small,” decides to steal Christmas away from the holiday-loving Whos. Magnificent sets and costumes inspired by Dr. Seuss’ original illustrations help transport audiences to the whimsical world of Whoville, while the Music and Book of Mel Marvin and Timothy Mason breathe new life into this timeless story of the true meaning of Christmas. The 2024 production is directed by Matt August and choreographed by Bob Richard based on the original choreography by John DeLuca and created by 3-time Tony® Award-winning director, Jack O’Brien.
There will be five performances on Saturday, November 23 at 10:30 am, 3 pm, and 7:30 pm and on Sunday, November 24 at 1 pm and 5:30 pm.
