I come from a family of breast cancer survivors. Daily checks are important for me. My grandmother is a 20+ year survivor and my mother is a 10+ year survivor. Watching my matriarchs fight the battle and win showed me their resilience and faith. #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth

I was just reminded that it's Breast Cancer Awareness month, so here is where I beg people to get tested for genetic mutations if there's breast or ovarian cancer in your family. Especially if you're Ashkenazi Jewish — 1 in 40 of us have a BRCA mutation, myself included.
Cancer has become the biggest threat to our Firefighters and Paramedics. This month we remember our members impacted, we celebrate our survivors, and we fight with our members who are currently battling breast cancer. #local2cares#breastcancerawarenesspic.twitter.com/gQ0ze7aBgY
Pink October is not a fashion statement or trend and it’s never gonna be, it’s an appreciation of the women who fought. breast cancer awareness is not a trend it’s a movement.
