Easter is right around the corner and that means candy sales are surging. There are a wide variety of seasonal candies that show up for holidays and Easter is no exception.

You’ll find store shelves lined with Easter-themed variations on your favorites as well as rare items you can only find this time of year. (Giant chocolate bunnies, anyone?)

According to Instacart, which conducted a survey on Easter candy’s popularity and has been tracking Easter candy sales, New Jersey’s favorite one may not be what you expected.  Surprisingly, it’s not Marshmallow Peeps.  You can find a bunch of different flavors of Peeps these days, and they even come in the form of bunnies.  In fact, New Jersey’s favorite isn’t even the Cadbury Creme Egg despite being the most popular overall in the US!

The Instacart survey revealed that New Jersey’s favorite Easter candy is, in fact, the Reese’s Peanut Butter Egg! It’s just a variation on the chocolatey peanut buttery year-round favorite, and apparently, it’s still a favorite this time of year in all its egg-shaped glory.

Interestingly, if New Jerseyans had to choose between jelly beans and Peeps, apparently they prefer the Peeps. But the Reese’s Peanut Butter Egg egg reigns victorious overall.
