Artist Creates “Elbow Bump Emoji” To Promote Social Distancing
According to Wired magazine, a New York City art director recently designed an “elbow bump emoji” to promote social distancing. Stephen Wright sent his creation to friends, who began using it right away.
“Emojipedia” website creator Jeremy Burge says the possibility of the “elbow bump” becoming an official emoji is uncertain. “The thing is, it takes about two years from proposing an emoji until it is widely supported. So the question is often whether this is going to be relevant in two years time.” Stephen Wright’s elbow bump image can be downloaded from is personal website and used in texts or emails. There’s also an animation on GIPHY.
