Today is World Autism Awareness Day and April is Autism Awareness Month. World Autism Awareness Day is an internationally recognized day every year on April 2nd. It encourages everyone to do things that raise awareness about autistic individuals throughout the world.
Many of us know a family who has a child with autism, I do, and you probably do too. It’s very difficult for families, and not many people truly understand the demanding and strenuous day-to-day life they live.
New Jersey's High Rate of Autism
According to World Population Review, New Jersey is top 10 among states with the most kids diagnosed as being on the Autism Spectrum. "The reason that autism is also called autism spectrum disorder is that the disability occurs on a spectrum, with the range and severity of symptoms varying widely." Some things that those with autism may do include avoiding contact, having trouble adapting to a new routine, or having trouble expressing their needs.
What is Robbie’s World Foundation?
Robbie’s World Foundation was established by the Gelormini family in New Providence, New Jersey. It was formed to honor their son Robbie who had Profound, Non-Verbal Autism. Robbie passed away in his sleep in 2017 from a seizure.
Now the Gelormini family is dedicated to helping others affected by Autism. Robbie’s World Foundation does whatever it can do to assist other Autism families who need assistance.
They plan events such as “Lemonade Mom’s Retreats” for families, encourage businesses to participate in their fundraising ideas, and speak at schools nationwide. They also spread Autism awareness through their podcast, “Spectrum Perspectives,” and the children’s book series, “Robbie’s World and His Spectrum of Adventures.”
Robbie’s World Author
Robbie’s Mom, Cindy Gelormini, is the author and illustrator of the trilogy series of twelve stories where Robbie the Penguin, “has Severe Autism and is Non-Verbal, but he gets his point across in every story.” The books are fun, funny, and have a message of unconditional love. Every chapter ends with, “I love you just the way you are.” Cindy and her books were featured on The Today Show” for World Autism Awareness Day.

Jerry Seinfeld celebrates his birthday today (April 29), and we’re so happy, we feel like dancing!
In the vein of that iconic moment, we’d all be kidding ourselves if we said we didn’t use some sort of Seinfeld-ism on a daily basis, and be honest, so do you! While there are countless phrases and moments that have become part of the pop culture lexicon, here are our 15 favorite Seinfeld-isms.

Know someone you can’t stand? Ever greet them with the same disdain? Stop kidding yourself; yes, you have!
Festivus
People celebrate Festivus now. Seriously, here’s a Festivus pole for sale on Amazon!
The Jerk Store
We’ve met a lot of people in our day that belong in The Jerk Store.
'You’re So Good Looking'
…And sneezes have never been the same!
'Shrinkage'
HE WAS IN THE POOL!
'…Not that there’s anything wrong with that'
Easily one of the most versatile Seinfeld-isms from the whole series.
'No soup for you!'
Soup! Seinfeld has changed the way we look at soup since this classic episode!
'Spare a square
You know a show is influential when you could be sitting on the toilet and think about it.
Man hands
Jerry was always picky about his women, but this was easily one of our favorite “deal breakers” of his.
'Master of your domain
Really…this entire episode is a prime example of just how good the writing was.
'Sponge-worthy'
The fact that Luke from Gilmore Girls is the one trying to prove himself to be “sponge-worthy” makes this clip even better.
'Yada Yada Yada'
Anyone else “yada yada’d” sex? Anyone…anyone?
Regifting
Some of us have “regifted” pre-Seinfeld, but they helped coin the term.
Schmoopie
This writer’s in-laws call each other “schmoopie.” Even though they’re just kidding around, it’s still gross.
'These pretzels are making me thirsty!'
Regardless of the type of pretzel, it’s hard not to think of this Seinfeld-ism when you’re eating them.
