Here is exciting news about Major League Baseball and a New Jersey woman named Jen Pawol. This is not your typical baseball story, but it is truly inspiring to say the least. You may have heard of Jen Pawol, a proud New Jersey native. If you haven’t heard of her, get ready because she is the latest buzz because she is about to break some serious ground in Major League Baseball.
I’ll be honest, I’m not a huge baseball fan, but this story may get me hooked to watching more often. This Jersey girl started out playing softball in high school. Like most girls who play softball in high school, she has skills, passion, and determination. It is almost 30 years since she graduated from West Milford High, and students and coaches there are still talking about her. What sets her apart from other girls in this high school sport is instead of just sticking to playing, Jen stepped into the world of umpiring. Jen attended the Minor League Baseball Umpire Training Academy to learn how to call the plays.
How Will Jen Change MLB History?
According to KMYA, this 47-year-old New Jersey resident has been a minor league umpire since 2016. She is already successfully calling the shots at the Triple-A level. This proves she has what it takes to umpire at the game’s highest levels. If Jen gets that call up to the big leagues, she will make baseball history because there has never been a female MLB umpire. How exciting for all New Jersey baseball fans to share the excitement about the FIRST female umpire to officiate a regular season MLB game.
Jen Pawol is paving the way for future generations of women in sports. As a fellow New Jerseyan, I am so proud to see one of our own about to make history. I hope her journey will inspire all of you to dream big and never let anything hold you back. Work hard and continue chasing your own dreams. Go get ’em, Jen!

MLB is the only professional sport in the country where each team has its own dedicated stadium. For example, in the NFL, the Jets and Giants share Metlife Stadium. Many NBA team share their home arena with the NHL team in their city. In professional baseball, each of the 30 teams has their own home field that is theirs alone. This enables the organization to build more character specific to the club.
The interior of an MLB ballpark is all about the players. Though there is a mysterious aura about the clubhouse, given that they are underground. The common thread in modern-day construction is centered around the ballclub. The intent is to make each clubhouse comfortable, hi-tech, and private for the players and coaches. The rest of the stadium is all about the fan experience.
