As I was sipping on my cup of green tea, with my hands wrapped in the warmth of the cup, I was so happy to come across this article in the NY Post.  The New York Post says green tea can boost your mood and make you happier. There seems to be so much depression and anxiety in our world today.  I find everyday people everywhere are experiencing the feeling of being overwhelmed.  The constant feeling of being overwhelmed hurts our health.  According to the Mayo Clinic, anxiety can lead to, or worsen, other mental and physical conditions like giving you trouble falling asleep at night. Worrying can give you headaches, and digestive problems and can even lead to suicide.

I am not saying that having a few cups of green tea will make all your problems disappear, but research shows that people who drink at least three cups of green tea per week have a 21% lower chance of depression. The caffeine and L-theanine in green tea calm the mind and reduce anxiety. I was unsure of what exactly in the drink could put a smile on our pretty faces so I did a little research myself. I found that the term Theanine is an amino acid found in green tea leaves and it is Theanine that helps you relax and keep stress at bay. I do not know about you, but I think it is worth sipping on some tea during your work day.

I have made a delicious Chai Tea that requires ingredients that I am sure almost everyone has in their kitchen.  It made this deliciousness with six bags that I boiled  in 3 cups of water.  As it started to boil, I added a little vanilla extract, cinnamon, ground ginger, nutmeg, cardamom, and honey.  Remove the tea bags and add 3 cups of milk as you lower the flame on the burner.  How much of the spices? Ha! I never measure, I just shake the spices in until the smell captures my senses enough to make me feel good.  I think it is more than worth giving green tea a try.

5 Green Flags You May Want to See When Dating

In the world of modern technology, people are always finding new ways to connect. This is especially true for those in the dating world. However, we seem to always focus on the red flags of dating. Meaning the negative traits or signs you may find when looking for a partner. Well, it’s high time we focus on the green flags of the dating world so we’ve gone ahead and picked out our five major green flags when it comes to dating.

1. Open Communication

Being open and most importantly being honest with your significant other is one of the most important steps you can take to build a strong and long-lasting relationship with somebody. Let’s face it problems are bound to arise throughout life. So having someone that you can feel comfortable opening up to is a major green flag. Otherwise, you can run the risk of bottling up your emotions which will lead to things like depression or stress which can seriously affect your mental/physical health.

2. Sharing your emotions and experiences

Humans are unique in several aspects one such aspect is our experiences and emotions to events or situations that we have gone through in life. Your partner and you may react to the same things in a totally different manner. However, you should never put them down for something like that. Validation of a partner's experiences or emotions can strengthen your relationship and give serious emotional benefits.

You should never say your partner's reaction to something is over dramatic or over emotional, because to them it may not be. It may be a serious issue due to things like stress, previous trauma or other issues. They need to know they have someone who understands them and that’s a green flag most people search for.

3. You want them to be part of your life.

Not only do you enjoy spending time with your significant other, but you’ve taken several steps to introduce them to your family and friends or have learned about theirs. This way no matter what you’re doing say at a classic New Jersey family barbeque you don’t feel like a stranger living in someone else’s world. It may seem like such a simple green flag to have, but sometimes simplicity is key to maintaining a loving relationship with someone.

4. Your core values and morals align.

This is a major one in the dating world, especially nowadays, if you and your partner don’t agree on certain issues or values this may become a problem in the relationship as you may spend your time trying to force your ideas onto them. Instead of hearing them out and understanding where they come from.

So, making sure your morals are compatible with your partner is a good step, but also making sure you can listen and talk in a civilized manner when they don’t align is also a key to a healthy relationship.

Growth is important to both of you.

No matter if it’s short-term growth or long-term. Having a partner who is willing to take the time to work on their issues, and your work with you as you do some growing of your one is one of the best green flags you can have in a partner. Because at the end of the day we’re all human and we do change. If you want to plan out the future with your partner who will support you all the way, through thick and thin well then, they’re A-ok in our book.
