Key Spring Training Dates For The Yankees, Mets, And Phillies
Although there is great basketball and hockey going on right now, our football season is officially over. Therefore, we are clear to start thinking about the upcoming Major League Baseball season. To start, let’s take a look at some key spring training dates for the Yankees, Mets, and Phillies.
For starters, we are about for weeks away from pitchers and catchers reporting down to Florida. In the meantime, teams like the Yankees are certainly staying in the news. Pitcher Marcus Stroman was signed to two-year $37 million contract and introduced in the Bronx this past week. “Marcus Stroman said that he gets “chills” envisioning his first opportunity to walk to the Yankee Stadium mound in pinstripes, a lifelong dream that the native New Yorker wasn’t sure would ever be realized,” MLB reported. Prior to that, Stroman will have to head down to Tampa for a month and a half.
Here are key spring training dates to be a ware of for all three teams.
Yankees Spring Training Information
Pitchers and catchers start on February 15. Then, the rest of the team will join and the Yankees first official full squad practice will be on February 20. Just four days later, the pre-season grind kicks into overdrive with the first practice game taking place at the Detroit Tigers facility. In total, the Yankees have 31 spring training games.

Mets Spring Training Information
The Mets return to their winter home in Port St. Luice Florida, with pitchers and catcher reporting on February 14. Fans will be treated to upgraded experience this season at their Clover Park facility. “A new state-of-the-art field was installed at Clover Park during the offseason and is ready to go for spring training,” MLB explains. The first full squad workout for the Mets will take place on February 19. The Mets will play 30 pre-season games this year with the first one being at home vs. the Cardinals on February 24.

Phillies Spring Training Information
Travel about 25 miles west from the Yankees facility and you will find the Phillies doing their thing in Clearwater, at BayCare Ballpark. Pitchers and catchers will first pull in on Valentine’s Day. They too will then hold their first full practice on February 19th. Bryce Harper and the crew will open their spring training game schedule in in Dunedin, FL, taking on the Blue Jays. One day later, the Yankees will pay a visit to Clearwater for the Phillies first home game at BayCare.
