Target’s Candle Recall: Prioritizing Safety
Amidst the excitement of indulging in our favorite fall scents, it’s important to remain vigilant about the safety of the products we bring into our homes. The recent recall of Threshold Glass Jar Candles by Target serves as a poignant reminder of this. The recall, affecting a staggering 2.2 million candles, involves Threshold Glass Jar Candles in various scents and sizes, specifically the 5.5-ounce 1-wick and 20-ounce 3-wick varieties.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has highlighted a significant safety concern associated with these candles. The candle’s glass jar has the potential to crack or break during use, presenting serious risks of lacerations and burns to users. While the recall was prompted by 19 reported incidents of cracked jars, resulting in one minor injury, it underscores the importance of carefully assessing product safety before incorporating them into our homes.
If you are among those who have purchased these candles, it is strongly recommended that you take immediate action to address the issue. The candles were sold exclusively at Target stores between February 2020 and July 2023. Fortunately, Target has provided a remedy by allowing customers to return the candles to any Target store for a full refund. Prioritizing safety should always be the top concern, even when indulging in the delightful world of scented candles.
