Governor Murphy Underwhelms Fans With His Taylor Swift Ham, Egg and Cheese
If you’re going to any of the Met Life Stadium shows to see Taylor Swift’s ERA’s Tour this weekend, log onto magic983.com and upload a photo of your ERA’S tour concert outfit for a chance to win some Taylor vinyl. My wife and daughter will be there tonight and uploading their pics after spending hours last night making their friendship bracelets.
Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour has stopped in cities all across the country and every place she’s been has tried to outdo the others in celebrating the occasion. She’s gotten the key to the city, gotten streets named after her, and she was even invited to be the mayor for a day. Glendale, Arizona, even renamed itself Swift City in her honor.
So now that she’s on her way to New Jersey, what are we doing? Honorary Governor? Rename the New Jersey Turnpike to Taylor’s Turnpike? Nope, she’s getting a pork sandwich.
We’re in our Taylor (Swift) Ham era.

The king of our heart @govmurphy has declared the Taylor Swift Ham, Egg, and Cheese the official state sandwich. pic.twitter.com/PX2zKSBszp
New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy announced in a video that in honor of Taylor, he’s putting to rest a long-standing statewide debate about what we call the contents of a ham, egg, and cheese sandwich. The argument has been ongoing for years and years. Some of us call it Taylor ham, and some of us call it pork roll. “Usually we let you ‘call it what you want,'” Murphy said, referring to the title of one of Taylor’s songs. “But since we have a superstar coming to town, we know ‘All Too Well’ that we should commemorate the occasion. So today, we are declaring the official state sandwich of New Jersey a ‘Taylor Swift ham, egg and cheese.'” “Welcome back to New Jersey, Taylor we’ve been waiting for you, and it would’ve been a ‘Cruel Summer’ without you.” The video ends with a photo of the official sandwich proclamation.

Fans are not impressed with the idea, but they’re probably more upset that the venue, MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, is not allowing “Taylor-gating” unless you have a ticket.
Sorry Swifties - No Ticket, No Taylor-Gating!

NJSP urges those who do not have a ticket for Taylor Swift to not go to the Stadium. Parking lots will be at maximum capacity and unauthorized crowds will create traffic and safety concerns. Tickets will not be sold at the Stadium. pic.twitter.com/fYuKs4nCUF
Other fans at other stadiums in other towns have been showing up and partying in the parking lot even without tickets. The New Jersey State Police tweeted, “Parking lots will be at maximum capacity and unauthorized crowds will create traffic and safety concerns.”
Either way, if you’re going post your pics to win at Magic983.com!
