App Lets Shoppers Try Out Christmas Trees Before Buying One

Technology has been taking huge steps forward over the years and now it’s giving us the chance to try out Christmas decorations in our homes before we even buy them.  The John Lewis app is a virtual reality app that lets you browse through the stores variety of trees for sale and lets you see how the various trees would look in your home. Users find the Virtual Christmas Tree feature by searching for Christmas Trees in the app and clicking the ‘View in room’ label on the trees that have the option to view virtually.  To see the tree in the room, users must then hold their phone towards the floor and move slowly from side to side to scan the room.  A Christmas tree will appear after tapping a square to load it on the screen.  The app is currently only available for iphones.
