2 New Jersey Casinos In Top 20 for America’s Luckiest
I don’t consider myself a big gambler, but I can get a bit superstitious when I do gamble. If I’m winning I like to stick to a particular dealer, table, machine, or even casino. On a trip to New Jersey casinos a few years ago, I stuck with the same machine every day because I kept winning.
Most have a favorite casino because they feel that’s where they win the most. Personally, I never thought it made a difference, the odds of winning are pretty much the same wherever you go.
According to a recent study by GamblingSites.com that does not seem to be the case. The survey shows that some casinos are much more lucky than others, and a couple of New Jersey casinos made the list.
According to Trip Advisor reviews submitted by gamblers, they discovered which casinos brought them the most luck. They analyzed the percentage of positive player reviews mentioning words like “lucky,” “won,” and “jackpot.”
Las Vegas, Nevada, and New Jersey casinos in Atlantic City were not found to be the luckiest states to gamble. That honor went to WinStar World Casino in Thackerville, Oklahoma. They also learned that, according to the players, winning is more prevalent in the months of January and May, although they couldn’t explain why. If you’re looking to lose, you should place your bets in December because that month was found to be the unluckiest time of the year.
If you’re looking to lay your money down at a casino in the top five, the shortest drive would be to Mohegan Sun in Connecticut which landed in the number five spot of luckiest casinos based on Trip Advisor reviews.
New Jersey Casinos Deemed Luckiest
If Atlantic City, New Jersey is the furthest you want to travel to try your luck then there are two New Jersey casinos there that were found to be among the top twenty luckiest in America.
Coming in at sweet sixteen on the list is Atlantic City, New Jersey’s Caesars Atlantic City Casino. There may be some truth to that because a couple of friends of mine got married there nearly thirty years ago and they’re still going strong. Caesars scored 6.21% of all reviews having at least one mention of “lucky”, “luck”, “won”, “winning”, “winnings”, “success” or “jackpot”.
Atlantic City, New Jersey’s Borgata Casino also makes the top 20, placing #17 with a score of 4.86%.

Good luck!
“To determine the “luckiest” and “unluckiest” casinos across America, they conducted a keyword search within the review sections of America’s most popular casino’s respective Trip Advisor pages. The following terms were searched and tallied: lucky, luck, won, winning, winnings, success and jackpot.”
They then calculated the percentage of luck-related mentions in each casino’s total Tripadvisor reviews and further broke them down by month of the reviewers’ visit. The data was collected in August 2024.
