Female Dogs Judge You
Most of us feel like we are constantly being judged by humans. Now we find that humans are not the only ones judging us. Female dogs judge people for being incompetent but males won’t hold it against you because they barely notice, a study has found. And if judging us is not enough, female dogs are more likely to act negatively when we make mistakes than males, a new study suggests.
A new study by Japan’s Kyoto University reveals that female dogs judge you when you make a mistake. Researchers had dogs watch people successfully open containers and then fail to open them. Male dogs didn’t judge, but researchers noticed female dogs were judging and identifying incompetence.
Researcher Hitomi Chijiiwa says, ‘Our findings show that dogs, especially female dogs, are able to identify human competence, which can influence their behavior, particularly if food is involved. Future studies should investigate the potential sex differences among dogs in the way they evaluate humans.’
