Maryann Shares a Few Holiday Cocktail Recipes
I love holiday cocktails and I wanted to make sure I have you covered for the holidays! I enjoy chocolaty creamy drinks. For the coffee lovers the Midnight Cowboy recipe will taste great as an after dinner cocktail – Don’t just have a cowboy, have a Midnight Cowboy! For those who like brandy and chocolate together, try the Brandy Alexander recipe. If you are out shoveling snow or sleigh riding, there’s nothing better than coming indoors to Hot Brandy Chocolate.
MIDNIGHT COWBOY
MIDNIGHT COWBOY
Ingredients:
3/4 ounce brandy
1/2 ounce coffee liqueur
1/2 ounce cream
crushed ice
cola
Directions:
- Slowly blend the brandy, coffee liqueur, cream and ice in a blender until frothy.
- Pour into a chilled glass. Top it off with a little cola to help it fizz a bit serve immediately.
BRANDY ALEXANDER
BRANDY ALEXANDER
Ingredients:
3/4 ounce brandy
3/4 ounce dark creme de cacao
3/4 ounce heavy cream
freshly grated nutmeg on top ( to make your drink look pretty)
Directions:
- Put cracked ice into a cocktail glass
- Pour in the brandy, creme de cacao, and cream and shake vigorously until well frosted.
- Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Shake a little nutmeg on top and serve immediately.
HOT BRANDY CHOCOLATE
HOT BRANDY CHOCOLATE
Serves 4
Ingredients:
4 cups milk
4 ounces semisweet chocolate
2 tablespoons sugar
3 1/2 ounces brandy
1/2 cup whipped cream
nutmeg and/or unsweetened cocoa powder ( for making it look pretty on top)
Directions:
1. Heat the milk in a small pan to just before it reaches a hard boil.
2. Add the chocolate pieces to the milk and sugar. Stir over low heat until the chocolate has melted.
3. Pour into 4 heatproof glasses, then pour 3/4 ounces of the brandy over the back of a spoon on top of each.
4. Add the whipped cream and sprinkle with grated nutmeg or cocoa powder. Serve immediately.
