Amazing Fireworks Coming to NJ State Fair
State Fair Meadowlands is preparing to celebrate the July 3rd and 4th holiday celebration with some planned and amazing fireworks. Award winner and local Garden State Fireworks is returning to provide the display. Garden State is a family-owned company located in Millington, New Jersey, that dates back to 1890 and has performed fireworks displays all over the world. These amazing fireworks are free with admission to the fair and start each night at 11 pm.
I just went back to my old church carnival last week to see some older family members who have been volunteering at the carnival for years.
My kids are a little older now, but taking them to a fair or carnival was so much fun when they were little. When I stopped by last week I had more fun taking in the atmosphere, and feeling the nostalgia than I did with the rides and games.
State Fair with Amazing Fireworks is Back
Another yearly tradition is returning to New Jersey, and the anticipation is building for State Fair Meadowlands. It all began over a century ago, has grown and changed hands through the years, and has been at the Meadowlands since the eighties.
It has over a hundred fifty rides and attractions, about a hundred food options, more than fifty games, and a dozen shows to enjoy. This is much bigger than my childhood carnival in the old church parking lot and schoolyard.
State Fair Meadowlands Fun Facts
According to the website, each year more than a hundred eighty-five thousand zeppoles, and fifty thousand corn dogs are sold and eaten along with over 17,000 bags of cotton candy.
The food was featured on the Cooking Channel’s “Carnival Eats” last year.
The entertainment includes a Michael Jackson Tribute Show, Circus Lena, Cycle Circus, Rosaire’s Racing Pigs, Illusionist Jay Mattioli, and Jurassic Kingdom.
State Fair Meadowlands will also feature a petting zoo with ponies and pony rides, llamas, donkeys, and the aforementioned amazing fireworks.

It’s not anything like my old church carnival, with bigger and better amazing fireworks.
