Like most families, ours loves Disney and Disney movies. My wife and daughter’s favorite Disney movie is “Little Mermaid” so we are preparing and anticipating heading under the sea on May 26th of this year. If you love Ariel too, then you should do the same. And if case you didn’t know who is playing the role of Ursula, you’re going to absolutely love it!
But we don’t have to wait for the new teaser for the live-action film The Little Mermaid, because it has arrived.
Today, Walt Disney Studios released a new look at the highly anticipated film starring Halle Bailey, who transforms into Ariel. We get the chance to see what Ariel and Eric look like, and get a chill from Ursula at the end.
The announcement read “Just 100 days until it arrives in theaters!”
In September 2022, Bailey told Good Morning America at the D23 Expo in Anaheim, California, that the upcoming film is a “twist on Ariel’s strength and powerfulness.” She also shared that “She’s just so strong in this film and I’m so grateful to play her.” I think any actress would give anything for this role. Bailey, who is half of the group Chloe X Halle, was cast in the role in July 2019.
The movie is being directed by Rob Marshall. Also starring alongside Bailey is Javier Bardem as King Triton, Jacob Tremblay as Flounder, Jonah Hauer-King as Prince Eric, Melissa McCarthy as Ursula, Daveed Diggs as Sebastian, and Awkwafina as Scuttle.
The Little Mermaid premieres in theaters on May 26.

Brad Pitt, Tyler Perry Are Among The World’s 10 Highest-Paid Entertainers
Forbes unveiled their list of highest-earning celebrities over the last year. Between new albums and tours, selling their music catalogs, streaming deals, and more, these entertainers secured big checks that would last most of us regular folk several lifetimes to burn through.
Per the publication, this year’s biggest earners hauled in $1.35 billion, which is half as much as last year’s top 10, which included Jay-Z, Kanye “Ye” West and Bruce Springsteen. Only two people from last year’s list appear again this year: Tyler Perry and South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone.
Take a look below at which top-earning celebrities made the top 10 for 2022:
Joel Katz is the Morning Show Personality, Assistant Program Director, Podcast Host, Voiceover artist, audio producer, and Digital Content Writer for Magic 98.3. Joel has been working in New Jersey radio since college and started at Magic in 2002 as the Morning Show Host, “I can’t think of another place where I’d fit more perfectly; it’s just a great company with awesome people.” Joel is married to Kathleen, his elementary school sweetheart (they were each other’s first dates at age 9), shares a birthday with his oldest son, Ty, and has twins, Kiera and Liam. Joel runs at least 3.1 miles every day and enjoys playing basketball, doing laundry, saving his turn signal for when he really needs it, kissing dogs through a fence, using coasters, making that cool noise by rubbing his fingers on balloons, and chasing after ping pong balls on a windy cruise ship.
