Tinder Is Giving Away Free COVID-19 Tests So Users Can Safely Meet Up
Tinder is trying to make sure their users are swiping and then meeting safely. Per CNN, the dating app is now offering free COVID-19 tests to encourage safe dating.
They state, “The dating app is giving 500 couples who match on Tinder a free self-testing kit so they can they can take their flirt sesh to the next level.” To do this, they will be giving out 1,000 free tests on March 20, which is the first day of spring.
According to Travel and Leisure, Tinder members in the U.S. can claim a code for a free Everlywell mail-in test for themselves and their date. The tests will be given out on a first-come, first-serve basis. Users take the test, ship it back, and results will then be available within 24-48 hours.
In a statement about the offer, Tinder’s Vice President of Marketing said, “The pandemic has created no shortage of dating obstacles, but we think our members are pretty optimistic about getting back out there. We’re excited to be working with Everlywell to make it easier for our members to go and meet their matches safely.”
