Kids in Summer in New Jersey
Back when we were kids there weren’t as many options as there are today to keep kids in Summer in New Jersey. Usually, we would hop on our bikes in the morning and return for dinner. What I and other kids did in Summer will remain a secret. Sometimes we got into a little trouble, but most of the time it all worked out alright.
Most New Jersey parents of kids in summer aren’t willing to take that chance and are looking for a fun and safe place for their children.
Kids need an outlet and there are a lot of options that are available to families. There are sports camps, theatre camps,
Camp a Great Idea for Kids in Summer
There are several day camps in New Jersey and there’s a good one right here in North Brunswick. Eagle’s Landing Day Camp opens its gates on June 24th with a long list of fun and exciting activities for kids in Summer.
I spoke with Ruth Ann Weiss who is one of the camp owners along with her husband and is also the camp director at Eagle’s Landing Day Camp. Ruth Ann shared that the kids, “Do everything.” They have all kinds of activities including every sport and game you can name including “Gaga.”
Ruth Ann said that on their “twenty-acre property the kids can do anything from Arts & Crafts, a huge science program, we have baby goats and chickens, we have a 32 foot climbing tower with a dual zip line, they get Red Cross swim lessons every day, and a hot lunch.” Kids can also learn how to cook over a fire, how to swim, plus make friends while learning how to be independent.
She said that as the kids get older they can take day trips like Great Adventure, Dave and Busters, Top Golf, ice or roller skating, and more. It’s a good opportunity to get a well-rounded day.
Ruth Ann says, “You don’t have to send your kids to our camp, but send your kids to camp.”
