188 New Jersey Restaurants “That Defined Fresh” for 58 Years Announce Debut of Fresh Meats

There are nearly 200 Subway restaurants in New Jersey that we have patronized for years and years. Maybe I’m late to the party, but I had no idea that Subway didn’t slice their deli meats in each store. Without turning this into a Subway bashing rant like we had on the air this morning, I find it shocking.
Additionally, I can’t believe that Subway, which has been in business since 1965, almost 60 years later, has come out telling everyone that they just starting to slice their sandwich meats in their stores.
Subway has announced that they’re switching things up.
The fast-food Hoagie (yes, I said hoagie) chain has introduced freshly sliced meats in its restaurants nationwide. Again, this means that 58 years after serving deli meats on their sandwiches, they’re “introducing” sliced meats in-store for the very first time.
Ok, I’ll stop conveying my amazement and just share the facts. They’ve also expanded their menu to include a new category of ultimate deli subs.
In a press release, the brand said, “Over the past two years, we overhauled our expansive pantry of ingredients and debuted a whole new way to Subway with chef-crafted signature sandwiches. These major changes led to rave reviews from our guests and record-breaking sales.”
They also stated, “This year’s changes are even bigger and more transformational. The addition of freshly sliced meats is the most impactful yet as it gives our guests a better sandwich, raising the bar even higher for the brand that defined fresh. We can’t wait for America to taste the difference and see how far we have come on our journey.”
Subway is also offering some free stuff to “put its new slicers to the test.” To get one of the 1 million free six-inch Deli Heroes subs, go into Subway on July 11 between 10 am and 12 pm and ask for a free six-inch Deli Heroes sub. The first 50 to do so will get the free (and now freshly sliced) sandwich.
The brand “that defined fresh” is now offering “fresh meats.” For the list of Subway New Jersey locations click here.
10 Wild Ice Cream Flavors to Try This Season
Summer is officially ice cream season, and July is National Ice Cream Month. Actually, every season is ice cream season, if you ask me. I seriously enjoy scoops of my favorite ice cream whether it’s 90 degrees outside or freezing cold. When it comes to ice cream flavors, it’s hard to beat the classics. Vanilla, chocolate, chocolate-chip and mint chocolate-chip are always favorites. But, why not switch it up and try some really wild ice cream flavors?
As a graduate of Michigan State University, I’ve tried many random ice cream flavors at the MSU Dairy Store. MSU is an agricultural college, so it’s known for the Dairy Store and having delicious ice cream. Honey Lavender and Spartan Swirl come to mind. But, enough about MSU. You don’t have to come to Michigan to get some unique ice cream flavors.
Read on for 10 wild ice cream flavors that you need to try. These flavors are all from major ice cream makers, so they should be fairly easy to find, no matter where you’re located. I’ve also included some non-dairy and gluten-free ice cream options for vegans and those on a gluten-free diet. I’m not vegan, but my favorite ice cream currently is actually non-dairy. Hopefully, there’s enough variety on this list for you to find your new favorite ice cream flavor.
It’s worth noting that some of these ice cream flavors are seasonal and only available in the summer. That said, the majority of the flavors below are currently available year-round.
