Only One Woman Made the List of Top Entertainers
You’ve probably guessed who she is. She’s not Beyonce. She’s not Rihanna. She’s not Adele. She’s not Madonna, Dolly, Shania, or Janet. Like the aforementioned, she can be identified easily by one name. She’s the wonderful and fabulous Taylor.
Forbes has released its annual list ranking the 10 celebrities who were the industry’s highest paid entertainers last year, and only one woman made the list. That woman’s name is Taylor Swift.
Taylor was crowned the ninth highest grossing earner after bringing in $92 million last year in 2022. Forbes says her fortune was a combination of streaming royalties, record sales, digital downloads, and licensing.
Forbes expects Taylor will make even more this year thanks to her upcoming Eras Tour, which will take her across North America for 52 nights for an estimated nine figure payday. Fans are also buzzing about what album she’ll rerelease next, which could further drive up her estimated wealth.
Topping the year’s list was the band Genesis which is comprised of their current members Phil Collins, Tony Banks, and Mike Rutherford. They made a whopping $230 million in 2022. It’s reported that their number one ranking is primarily due to them selling their catalog to Concord Music Group for about $300 million.
Other artists making the list were Sting in second place, the Rolling Stones in seventh place thanks to their European Sixty tour, and Bad Bunny rounding out the top 10 thanks to his two tours, one in the Spring and one in the Fall.
