New Jersey Teen Athing Mu Wins 800 Meters at Tokyo Olympics

Nineteen year old Athing Mu made history at the Tokyo Olympics.

The Trenton native became the first American woman to win a gold medal in the 800 meter race since the 1968 Mexico City Games.

Taking the lead early, she finished in 1:55.21, a U.S. record, breaking a record set by Neptune native Ajee Wilson.

British teen Keely Hodgkinson took home silver with a time of 1:55.88 and American Raevyn Rogers took home bronze with a time of 1:56.81.
