7 Things To Do For ‘National Dog Mom’s Day’
If you didn’t know, Mother’s Day isn’t the only national holiday coming up. National Dog Mom’s Day falls on the second Saturday in May (5/1).
If you’re looking to spend the day with your furbaby this weekend, here’s a few things you can do to make it special.
1. Go to a Dog Park
What better way to spoil your pooch and prove you’re the best dog mom than by heading to their favorite dog park. Even if dog parks aren’t usually your thing, there are so many in the Somerset county area such as Colonial Dog Park and Rocky Top Dog Park. Be sure to check it out so you and your dog can enjoy the beautiful warm weather!
2. Get Starbucks Together
Coffee for your dog? This doesn’t sound like a good idea but luckily Starbucks serves up something special just for your pooch. Order your fav drink and be sure to get a Puppuccino for your furry best friend.
3. Go to The Beach
Obviously, be sure to make sure your beach of choice is dog friendly before making the drive, but this is a great way to get your toes… or paws in the sand! 8th Ave Dog Beach in Asbury and Longport Dog Beach in Ocean City are two friendly options for people and pups.
4. Mani-Pedis
Get some dog friendly polish off Chewy or Amazon and get ready for a doggy spa day. Who wouldn’t want to have matching nails with their dog? Be sure to paint their nails first so you don’t have to worry about messing up yours in the process.
5. Go on a Hike
For all the adventurers out there with active dogs, this one’s for you! A hiking trail is perfect for any high energy dog to get all their excitement out. You’ll win dog mom of the year for stimulating all their senses in the great outdoors!
6. Instagram Photoshoot
Nowadays, who doesn’t love to make their pet a personalized Instagram account! Find some cool props or an outfit and get your dog picture perfect. You can even self timer and get some cute pictures for your own Instagram together to show everyone how cool of a dog mom you are.
7. Lazy Day
Saturday’s are the perfect day to kick your feet up and simply relax. For being such a good dog mom all year round, you’ve earned a day of hanging out at home…. with your dog of course! Your pup will love curling up next to you and getting scratches all day long.
