I never thought I would see the day that actor Nicolas Cage renters the world of the undead but after 33 years since he starred in the 1989 Vampire Kiss. Nicolas Cage will become Dracula in an upcoming horror comedy.

The film Renfield is directed by Chris Mckay, who previously worked directed The Tomorrow War (2021). The film will feature Count Dracula also known in the vampire community as just Dracula. Who has been a part of folklore for generations? Nicolas Cage will act out the part of the most powerful vampire, who appears to have fallen on hard times. He needs Renfield, played by Nicholas Hoult to bring him humans to regain his power. The character of Renfield has appeared in several pieces of media and literature most notably the classic 1931 Dracula film.

In return, it seems that Hoult's character gains mass power, though he goes to group therapy to talk about his predicament. Unlike more recent vampire movies this takes a more classic and stereotypical approach to vampires as Dracula must be invited into a building before he can enter and is dressed for his time period of the 1800s with a little bit of modernity thrown in. The plot seems fresh and the comedy from what's seen in the trailer isn't bad by any means with Nora Lum, also known as Awkwafina co-starring as Rebecca Quincy.

We won't have to wait long until the film hit theaters as shown in the trailer Renfield, which will release this coming April 14th to theaters. This reboot will be the latest in line with Universal Studio's plan to rehash the classic monsters and folklore gathered throughout the ages.

29 Movies That Turn 40 in 2023

When looking at the movies that turn 40 in 2023, one thing is very clear: 1983 kind of ruled!

In 1983, a holiday classic was born with A Christmas Story. Meanwhile, a star was born in Tom Cruise thanks to Risky Business. Women started cutting up their sweatshirts thanks to Flashdance, and a new sex symbol was born thanks to that gold bikini in Return of the Jedi. We also said hello to a little friend (Scarface), gave our daughter the shot (Terms of Endearment) and were gagged with a spoon (Valley Girl.)

Here are 29 movies that turn 40 in 2023. Even the biggest cynic would agree that 1983 at the movies was totally tubular.
