This is the Worst Month to Have a Birthday
No matter when you’re birthday is, it’s nice to be celebrated. However, according to a new study by Not On The High St., there is one month that’s the worst month to have a birthday. Their study reveals that people with a December birthday miss out on 160 presents over the course of their life because of how close they were born to Christmas day. The study says that people born in December receive four birthday presents while those born in other months receive an average of six presents for their birthday.
Some of the other findings include:
67% of people say December is the worst month to have a birthday; 75% of people say they receive joint birthday and Christmas presents; 55% of people are disappointed by the number of birthday gifts they receive in December; 24% of people get annoyed when they receive a Christmas themed birthday gift; 39% of people with a December birthday say they receive birthday gifts in holiday wrapping paper.
It’s not just the gifts, but also the celebrations, that get impacted. The survey also revealed that almost 35% were forced to cancel a birthday party because people couldn’t make it or dropped out at the last minute for holiday-related obligations or activities. Many also missed out on an exclusive birthday celebration because it was combined with holiday festivities. “Merry Christmas everyone, and, oh, it’s also someone’s birthday.” The only acknowledgment is when they sing happy birthday and then get on with the holiday celebration.
If your birthday is in December, especially mid or late December, this isn’t something you weren’t aware of. However, if you have a neighbor, friend, or loved one with a birthday in the last month, now you know. You may want to pay more attention to them during their birthday month. Consider going over the top this year to show them that they’re just as special as your other neighbors, friends, or loved ones.
