Somerset Police Go Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness
On Friday, September 30th at 10 at the front lawn of the Somerset County Court House, the annual “Pink Car” ceremony will be held on the front lawn of the Somerset County Courthouse (rain date October 3rd).
The announcement, made by Somerset County Prosecutor John P. McDonald, Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Chief of County Detectives John W. Fodor, and the Somerset County Chiefs of Police Association, states that five police vehicles have been wrapped in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Funds to do so were generously provided by Robert Wood Johnson Barnabas Health Somerset Steeplechase Cancer Center, Peapack-Gladstone Bank, and the Far Hills Race Meeting Association.
One in eight women will be affected by breast cancer in their lifetime and early detection is key.
The vehicles are equipped with QR codes to scan on the outside of the vehicle for anyone interested in scheduling a mammogram appointment through RWJ Barnabas Health.
Back in 2019, I had the pleasure of seeing one of their pink vehicles, and the officer was a good sport, posing for a picture of me getting cuffed!–Ginny
