Lance Bass and his husband of six years, Michael Turchin, are expecting twins -- a boy and a girl -- via surrogate.

After 42-year-old Bass shared a parody horror movie trailer on TikTok hinting at the news yesterday that he and 34-year-old Turchin are expecting their first children after years of struggling to start a family of their own, People reports.

Lance and Michael told the outlet, "We had been talking about having a family since we met. We've been together for 10 years. We always knew that if we were going to start the family, we wanted to go for twins just because Michael's a twin — he's a boy/girl twin. And he just loved that experience. I always wanted to have a twin, but we're like, 'Well, that's so perfect because now we can do one of mine, one of yours.' It was a no-brainer!"

As their TikTok teases, the couple is anticipating an early November arrival, but Lance is hoping they come in time for Halloween, joking that "They have no choice but to love Halloween because I'm obsessed and they're going to be obsessed."

For several years, Lance and Michael have been struggling to get pregnant, with Michael saying, "We went through nine different egg donors, which is rare. We got all the way down the path of about to retrieve their eggs. Some just wouldn't produce enough eggs, some weren't good genetic matches. If you're going to be a match, you don't want to even risk it."

Lance revealed that they were pregnant last year, but their surrogate miscarried while pregnant with twins, so the couple had to start over. Once they learned their current surrogate was pregnant, they were hesitant to get excited. Lance said, "It kind of sucks because when you find out you're pregnant, you want to celebrate with your family. You start planning their future in your head already, but we were so scared because we didn't want to go through the pain again of losing them. We told our friends and family about the ninth week, when we finally felt comfortable. You think you're going to jinx it or something."
