If you are Swiftie, you know that this friendship bracelet thing does not come out of nowhere. It stems from a lyric in her song “You’re On Your Own Kid” of her latest album Midnights.
So make the friendship bracelets
Take the moment and taste it
Thousands of Taylor Swift fans will arrive at Eras Tour venues and just to trade friendship bracelets. And now, we’re going to be seeing this phenomenon in movie theaters!
Making Friendship Bracelets
With the film’s release in the coming weeks, and the second US leg next year, I decided to make some so I could make some new friends and was surprised at how easy they were to make. It is also a very relaxing craft to do once you get the hang of it.
I have also heard of groups of friends getting together a couple of weeks before the tour rolls through their town to make friendship bracelets to trade or just gift to their fellow Swifties. Many are making them themed to their favorite Taylor Swift album or song by including alphabet beds to spell them out on the bracelet.
Here are the items you will need to make your own Taylor Swift friendship bracelets. These have been tested out by me – and it took a couple of failures before I got the products to work together in the easiest way possible.
For an adult, I have found that a 27-inch string is the perfect size, plus using 25 color beads and 5 alphabet beads.
So, pour yourself a drink, play a Taylor album of your choosing, and get crafting!
